yesterday i had my dance, ill never see those guys again.
yesterday was the debut, i had a dress rehearsal at 11 before returning at 5 for the actual party. it was at a nice hotel and the venue was really nice, it had a dance floor too.
i was really nervous, i rarely perform in front of large crowds. one thing i have learnt is that no one really cares if you mess up. most of the time the crowd blurs and fades.
the only time i performed in front of like hundreds of people was during my high school's cultural talent show - i played bass.
it was pretty fun, dannie, the debutant (not debutee as i was saying before haha) looked like a princess. maybe because she had a tiara and all, but her dress was huge! my partner, hannah, was there too (duh.) unfortunately though, we had sat at different tables since my family was there. i stole a few glances at the back of her head.
when it finally came time for the introduction and dance we were all stationed outside of the venue, waiting to be called in. some of the other dancers were asking me if i was nervous, and i had told them that i didnt care as i would never see these people again. "they dont even know my name!" uhm toph they call you in...
the dance came and went and i went back to my seat. when i thought that dancing was done, there was a surprise. before we got to go to the buffet, instead of calling our tables they would play a song which was assigned to our table. you had to dance to get your food.
my family finished that and i went to eat, it wasnt anything special but i should learn to take less food.
i had one final solo dance with dannie which went great! i forgot where to put my hand so that was awkward. it was the first time we had danced since she wasnt my partner, but thankfully shes really kind so i didnt feel out of place at all.
honestly, ive been feeling myself become more extroverted and not afraid to take the stage. i used to be an observer, and while i still am, i dont mind becoming the observed.
